About NatchDan

NatchDan is a skinny boy doing his best to fit the stereotypical tortured artist look from Leicester, England. This isn’t working out too well due to a series of bad haircuts. He plays guitar, acoustic and electric, but he prefers electric because the bastards are easier to record with. He first picked up a guitar whilst utterly failing to revise for his exams in 2003 and has never looked back. He bludgeons pianos occasionally, but you’re not getting any of that just yet.
Amongst his influences are Radiohead, Metric, The Cure, M83 and Nine Inch Nails, though it’s hard to say how much of any of those actually show through in the finished product.
NatchDan has had a keen interest in recording ever since he got given a microphone for his birthday. He doesn’t remember which birthday it was, only that school was still an inescapable, never-ending torment and he still loved Power Rangers. Recording embarrassing “radio shows” in his bedroom soon became his favourite hobby.
Later in life he discovered the recording power of the PC and the wonders of the sequencing program FruityLoops. When he realised the power of combining programmed instruments with his guitar, nothing, it seemed, would stand in his way. He still records the embarrassing radio shows, only this time they’re called “Podcasts”.
NatchDan believes that sharing music for free to increase the profile of an independent artist is the best way to do it.
Consequently, once you download an album for free, you may burn it to CD, pass it around, send it to someone else - do whatever you like with it. Just don’t ever charge.
